Role overview

Rogo builds AI for professionals at major investment banks, private equity houses and other investment firms. This product manager owns the enterprise platform surface those institutions rely on to adopt Rogo, integrate it and grow on it: an API and MCP layer that customers and partners extend, the admin, permissioning and entitlement tooling that mirrors complicated organisational structures, and the billing, credits, consumption limits and pricing and packaging that sit behind them.

The role is cross-functional by design. You will translate what sales, post-sales and enablement hear from customers into product, prototype in design or code rather than writing long specifications, and join engineering, design and customer-facing colleagues in onboarding, keeping and growing the largest organisations on the platform.

What you will do

  • Own the API and MCP extensibility surface that lets customers and partners build on Rogo.
  • Build the admin, permissioning and entitlement tooling that maps onto complex enterprise org structures.
  • Run billing, credits, consumption metering and rate limits, plus the pricing and packaging model itself.
  • Stay close to sales, post-sales and enablement so commercial needs become shipped product.
  • Prototype in design or code to decide what deserves to ship, then stay close to engineering and design to deliver it and keep the team unblocked.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and craft across the enterprise experience, including systems that large institutions rely on daily.
  • Partner with engineering, design and customer-facing teams to onboard, retain and scale Rogo's biggest customers.

What the employer is looking for

  • Solid product management or startup product experience with real shipped products; enterprise SaaS, platform, API/MCP or developer-tooling exposure is a strong plus.
  • Commercial instincts: comfortable owning pricing and packaging, working with go-to-market, and thinking about how a product is bought as well as built.
  • Strong intuition for LLMs plus real hands-on time building with AI tooling.
  • Genuinely technical: able to ship code, prototype rather than only spec, and go deep with engineers; a computer science, maths or engineering degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • High bar for craft and usability in the systems that run an enterprise deployment.
  • Credible with senior stakeholders, presenting with polish to enterprise and finance leaders and representing the company well in every conversation.
  • Sharp, detail-oriented, organised and prolific, with good taste and little ego.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, autonomous and self-directed, and energised by a fast-paced startup environment.

Good to have

  • Experience in finance is welcome but not required.
  • A degree in computer science, mathematics or engineering.

Benefits and compensation

  • Compensation of $190,000 – $300,000 with equity.
  • Ownership of significant product surface area used by sophisticated enterprise users.
  • A high-talent-density team working at the frontier of what current AI models can do.

DigitalAPI's read on this role

Why Rogo's enterprise API/MCP product role matters in today's APIM market

DigitalAPI's leadership team has run API programmes for Fortune 100 companies and now builds the platform behind them. Here is their take on what this opening really asks for.

What this role says about the market

This posting bundles the pieces that mature API programmes usually split across several teams: the API and MCP access layer, entitlements and permissioning, rate limits and consumption metering, and the pricing that turns usage into revenue. An AI vendor selling to banks and funds treating that bundle as one product is a sign of where the market is going. Programmatic and agent access is now the way large institutions integrate, and monetisation, governance and developer experience have to be designed together rather than bolted on.

What to emphasise in your application

  • Products you have shipped where APIs or an MCP server were the main surface for customers or partners.
  • Ownership of pricing, packaging, credits or consumption-based billing, and the commercial results that followed.
  • Entitlement and permissioning models you designed for complex enterprise org structures.
  • Evidence that you prototype in code and build with AI tools, not just write specifications.
  • Experience presenting to senior enterprise or finance stakeholders.

For hiring managers

DigitalAPI's leadership team would look for a candidate who can explain how an external developer or an AI agent goes from discovering an API or MCP tool to being entitled, rate-limited, metered and billed without a manual handoff. Probe for how they would govern that access in-pipeline and how they would package consumption for enterprise buyers. Candidates who have only run feature backlogs without owning the commercial model will struggle here.

Our view is that the developer portal and catalogue are where APIs become products, and that agents are now a primary consumer of those products. This role is building exactly that layer for a financial AI platform.

About DigitalAPI

DigitalAPI is the gateway-agnostic command centre for APIs and AI agents. It connects to the gateways an enterprise already runs, Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway and Azure API Management, and turns everything behind them into one governed, self-serve catalogue for developers, partners and AI agents. API Gateway, API Portal, API Catalog, API Marketplace, MCP Gateway and MCP Portal ship as one platform.

The company grew out of an API consultancy founded in Bangalore in 2015 that became an Apigee-Google partner in 2017, then built its own cloud-agnostic, AI-powered platform in 2020 after seeing how fragmented gateways and duplicate APIs blocked its clients. More than 240 API teams now use it, with customers such as Zurich, Canara Bank, HSBC, Fiserv and Mahindra Finance. DigitalAPI has offices in the USA, UK and India, 130+ people, and recognition from Gartner and Deloitte.
